The NEC Plasma Television Range: Review NEC Plasma TV Models

NEC Plasma Television

NEC has for a long time been a leader in the Plasma Display field, releasing TV products for home, business and public use. It is also a well known and respected brand in the business world when it comes to both monitors and printers. This is partly because of their application of patented technologies, which come with the NEC Plasma Television range.

Features Of The NEC Plasma Television Range

Capsulated Color Filter is probably their most famous, which comes included with AccuCrimson Filter technology. CCF (for short) helps in producing natural, real-to-life vivid colors.

Brightness and contrast is greatly improved (100% more in the newer models than previous models) with Crystal Clear Panel. This also helps to remove contouring. An NEC plasma tv can actually has the highest contrast levels in bright light, with picture clarity enhanced to 4096 shades of grey (dark scenes are incredibly more clearer and less distorted.)

Enhanced Motion Adaptive 3D Scan Conversion is able to provide error free interpolation when it comes to moving video – the result is an incredibly detailed, smoother image.

Enhanced Mass Area Superior Sampling is able to accurately reproduce curved and diagonal lines, and eliminate color bleed.

Multi-Field Noise Reduction looks at the video field both before and after the active video field, then it averages the fields together and reduces visible noise.

Color Tune Technology means you can adjust the colors individually, without white balance being affected.

Advanced AccuBlend converts non-native resolution to what the resolution of the display is.

What's the difference between SD/HD?

SD and HD are two standard industry terms that explain how the picture is produced on the screen. SD stands for Standard Definition, 625 line, which is what most analogue and digital televisions use. HD stands for High Definition, 720p, which is known as HDTV. Plasma TV is always in HDTV format.

With the above in mind, let's look at three products available in the NEC Plasma Television range – all in different sizes.
